Responsibilities

Position Summary:

 

 

This is a working Lead position. This role supports the Shipping process, ensuring shipping quality, efficiency and safety.  Trains shipping staff as required.  Trouble shoots shipping problems and provides back-up as needed.

 

Responsibilities:

  1. Anticipate finished goods requirements from schedule generated by supervisor and/or planning and facilitate order picking activities to meet schedule demands and avoid late shipments.
  2. Assist in shipping work.
  3. Procure shipping supplies from supervisor as needed.
  4. Complete daily shipping reports and other necessary paperwork.
  5. Perform duties safely. Report observed safety hazards to supervisor.
  6. Assist with monthly physical inventories.
  7. Educate department personnel on proper use of equipment, safety requirements, and product quality standards.
  8. Coordinate work activities to ensure all shipments are prepared on time and free from damage.
  9. Ensure labor is utilized effectively and efficiently to achieve optimal performance.
  10. Maintain a safe, neat and organized work area.
  11. Drive continuous improvement activities in the shipping department.
  12. Lead in the tracking of daily metrics and be solution minded, while facilitating corrective actions.
  13. Perform other duties as assigned.
  14. Be punctual and at work daily

 

Qualifications

Minimum Qualifications:

 

High school diploma or equivalent preferred

1-2 years of manufacturing experience to include lead responsibilities

Excellent interpersonal skills

Bilingual English/Spanish preferred

Computer literacy

Customer focused with a strong attention to detail

Flexible to work overtime as required

Able to reach, bend, lift to 50 lbs., twist, squat, push and pull

 

 

Physical/Mental Demands:

While performing the essential functions of this job the employee is frequently required to reach, grasp, stand and/or sit for long periods of time (up to 90% of the shift), walk, talk and hear; occasionally required to lift and/or move up to 50 pounds. Working Environment:

The work environment characteristics described here are representative of those an individual may encounter while performing the essential functions of this position.  This is an Industrial Manufacturing work environment where it is hot/humid, and employees are often exposed to loud sounds and distracting noise levels.  Employee are exposed to hazardous equipment daily and are required to wear mandatory PPE.
