The 2nd shift Maintenance Technician is responsible for maintaining and repairing the production equipment, building and grounds.  This position works with the Maintenance Supervisor, Manufacturing Engineers, and Production Management to ensure that all work is performed on a timely basis and in an efficient and safe manner.  This position will also be involved with improvement activities as a result of lean and kaizen events.  


Trouble-shoots production issues and implements both short term quick fixes and long term robust improvements.

Maintains and repairs equipment and building.

Must have working knowledge of mechanical, electrical systems, and pneumatic systems; must be able to troubleshoot and read electrical & pneumatic schematics.

Performs preventive maintenance and troubleshoots machinery and equipment.  Works with preventive and predictive maintenance programs on a daily basis.

Informs Supervisor of defective equipment and/or material.

Informs Supervisor of material needed to repair or maintain equipment.

Informs QC if component parts are suspected out of spec and causing production/quality issues

Responsible for keeping work area clean and safe.

Records information regarding machine histories and jobs performed either manually or electronically.
Checks work performed as required to insure that all quality standards are achieved.
Requires some physical effort and handling of material occasionally up to 65 pounds.
Is responsible for following all plant safety rules.

May perform other duties as required.


High School Diploma and a minimum 3 years experience in maintenance. 

Ability to troubleshoot and read schematics for pneumatic & electrical equipment.

Ability to analyze and resolve mechanical and electrical problems.

Self-motivated, will take initiative and requires little direct supervision.

Strong desire to solve problems and improve the operation.

Ability to use and identify basic hand and power tools (drills, saws, wrenches, etc.).

Ability to read tape measure and to perform basic math problems.

Strong organizational skills and hands on experience leading and educating others is highly desirable.

Experience working with preventive and predictive maintenance programs.

Troubleshooting experience with PLC’s (especially Siemens) and experience with Keyence & Cognex vision systems & vision sensors a plus.

Willing and able to learn many new concepts quickly.

Good team player with an extremely strong sense of urgency.

PC literate and very comfortable working in a Microsoft Windows environment.

Ability to attend on- and off-site training classes as required.

Performs lean/kaizen follow-up activities.

Exposed to general manufacturing environment; must Personal Protective Equipment as required.

Must be able to walk safely thru the plant; climb stairs able to identify obstacles and various types of traffic. 

Sitting, standing and/or walking for long periods of time

Must have full range of motion (sitting, standing, squatting, bending, reaching, etc.).

Must be able to lift 65 pounds; may be some repetitive lifting.

Good vision (20/20 vision; with or without corrective lenses) and good hearing.
