Relationships with customers & suppliers. The incumbent must be able to communicate effectively with all customers and suppliers regarding quality issues for all new and current programs.

Sample submission / PPAP packages.  The incumbent is required to be familiar with the standards and procedures used by all customers for initial sample submission.  The incumbent must put these packages together and gain approval for new products and processes.

Capability Studies.  The Quality Operations Supervisor supervises the performance of statistical analyses of critical process parameters, and dimensional characteristics.

Instructs and otherwise trains and coaches workers in the reporting of information to optimize and develop sound quality practices and procedures.

Monitor the safety of the plant and minimize the number of work related accidents in order to protect the safety of employees.

Provides direction and training to participative management teams in manufacturing.

Problem-solving team direction.  The incumbent is required to form and chair various problem-solving teams.  This requires tact and patience as well as technical skills.

Design review.  The incumbent will participate in prototype feasibility reviews, production design reviews, and customer product reviews with the following groups:  Manufacturing Engineering, Product Development Engineering, customer product engineers, Filtran production.

APQP documents. The incumbent will lead teams to write process flow diagrams, PFMEAs, and control plans for new products, and maintain these documents through the lives of the projects.

Supplier audits.  This position will oversee supplier quality and may perform audits of suppliers as well.

Floor inspection support.  The incumbent is a technical resource by floor inspection personnel.  This assistance will include, but not be limited to gaging procedures, problem-solving, team formation, instruction, interpretation of control chart patterns, and response to defects of unknown origin.

Software purchase and support.  The incumbent will maintain a good working knowledge of the latest statistical software, including that required for experimental design.  The incumbent will also recommend purchase to management when appropriate, and train department personnel in its use.

Bachelor of Science and related manufacturing work experience


Experience in automotive manufacturing & quality systems (automotive OE or Tier 1 supplier)


Strong problem-solving skills and 8D / A3 report writing


Proven track record of meeting deadlines while working on multiple projects


Exceptional verbal, written, and presentation skills; strong communicator with all levels of the organization and with customers & suppliers


Self-motivated, organized, focused, and driven


Understanding of Geometric Dimensioning and Tolerance (GD&T).


Must be a quick learner of in house software.


Solid PC skills, especially Microsoft Excel, Word, Powerpoint, Access, Outlook
