The Senior Cost Accounting Manager works within the finance team to provide financial support to business partners to ensure the execution of Forecast and Close tasks. Responsible for developing forecasts, performing month-end close readings, and analyzing actual results to help provide management with clear and accurate reporting of business cost performance, risks, and opportunities. Responsible for ensuring proper financial controls are maintained. This position develops analytical, decision-making, and communication skills and fosters a deep understanding of the manufacturing and supply chain system

Key Responsibilities:

• • • Responsible for forecast and close activities, including developing the annual budget, quarterly forecasts, and monthly closes related to logistics and product cost. Investigate and understand variances in plans.
    • Ensure that corporate guidelines and Generally Accepted Accounting Principles guide the cost accounting process.
    • Successfully handle cost savings tracking and reporting.
    • Actively participate in discussions regarding key commodity assumptions.
    • Reconcile inventory accounts and provide critical insights into the Product Supply Balance Sheet reporting (Inventory, Reserves, etc.).
    • Support the standard costing process, including maintaining periodic cost rolls/annual updates. Ensure the use of consistent methodology and provide the key drivers of change.
    • Consistently demonstrate active financial leadership by partnering with cross-functional partners within Operations, Finance, etc., to drive business results and meet business objectives.
    • Actively contribute towards business goals by providing insights. Leadership of small finance team

What we look for:

• • • Minimum 5 years of related experience with some exposure to cost accounting and finance required
    • Bachelor's degree in Finance, Accounting, or Business required or equivalent experience.
    • Strong understanding of cost accounting and finance concepts required.
    • Demonstrated leadership, analytical, and problem-solving skills.
    • Excellent interpersonal and communication skills (verbal and written).
    • Demonstrated ability to interact, influence effectively, and communicate with multiple levels of the organization.
    • Preferred Consumer Packaged Goods or Manufacturing industry experience.
    • QAD or Sage financial reporting system experience a big plus.
