Finishing is looking for a Senior Accountant.

 

The Senior Accountant reports to the Controller and will ensure the accuracy and completeness of data sources, prepare month-end close journal entries, complete account reconciliation, and support audit and tax deliverables as requested.  The Senior Accountant will have primary oversight of the procure-to-pay process for the Finishing business unit and will assist the Controller in optimizing accounting processes throughout the business unit.

Responsibilities

  • Work with purchasing and other internal departments to resolve invoice and account discrepancies.
  • Checking A/P invoices for accuracy, verifying with internal PO documentation as well as posting and entering invoices to correct G/L accounts.
  • Respond to supplier inquiries timely.
  • Processing weekly check run and preparing all electronic payments (ACH & Wire)
  • Confirm inter-company trade balances during month-end close.
  • Successfully researches and resolves any issues that may arise.
  • Protects organization's value by keeping information confidential.
  • Implement drives for cash flow improvement.
  • Reviewing and verifying freight invoices and resolving discrepancies with the carrier and internal departments.
  • Ownership of month-end close process.
  • Preparing and posting monthly journal entries as well as weekly manufacturing journals.
  • Preparing Balance Sheet reconciliations and updating prepayment schedules.
  • Ad hoc analysis for Controller and local management.
  • Work collaboratively with Controller and Accounting department to optimize accounting processes, including but not limited to A/P
  • Perform other related duties as required.

Qualifications

Skills and Experience

  • Undergraduate Accounting degree preferred.
  • 5+ years of experience in Accounts Payable, General Accounting, and Accounts Receivable.
  • Proven track record in collections and keeping overdue/aged balances at a minimum.
  • Solutions driven with a bias for action (acts like an owner).
  • Manufacturing industry experience preferred.
  • Excellent time management and communications skills.
  • Strong attention to detail.
  • Ability to interact with upper management and executives.
  • Experience with MS Office, MS Outlook and ERP-Systems.
  • Strong team player.
