Overview

The Human Resources Manager will be the talent champion for our Porex Foam team. This role will partner with the leadership team on strategy as we look to grow the business, as well as own the essential tactical HR actions for operating a small manufacturing site. You are the HR business leader for the Filtration Group Porex Foam business unit, supporting the strategic and tactical needs of this great business located in St Charles, MI.

Responsibilities

  • Coach and develop the VPGM and the leadership team.
  • Talent leader for the business which will entail the identification, recruitment and the hiring of amazing new team members.
  • Be one of the sponsors for Front Line Obsession, helping the organization knock down the walls that exist in every organization between our offices and manufacturing teams! Provide a clear career path for our hourly and front line associates so they can build a long term career with us.
  • Administer and execute human resource programs including the entire employee life cycle, compensation, benefits, and leave; disciplinary matters; disputes and investigations; performance and talent management; productivity, recognition, and morale; occupational health and safety; and training and development.
  • Manages and resolves complex employee relations issues. Conducts effective, thorough and objective investigations.
  • Maintains in-depth knowledge of legal requirements related to day-to-day management of employees, reducing legal risks and ensuring regulatory compliance. Partners with the legal department as needed/required.
  • Provides day-to-day performance management guidance to line management (e.g., coaching, counseling, career development, disciplinary actions).
  • Works closely with management and employees to improve work relationships, build morale, and increase productivity and retention.
  • Provides HR policy guidance and interpretation.
  • Review current state new hire orientation and employee onboarding and relaunch as needed.
  • Evaluate compensation practices to ensure our entry level manufacturing positions at paid competitively in the market.
  • Maintain knowledge of trends, best practices, regulatory changes, and new technologies in human resources, talent management, and employment law.
  • Develop your own career and be intellectually curious and a business problem solver.
  • While you will wear the HR hat and be the subject matter expert, a strong emphasis will be your ability to be a business partner for the Porex Foam business unit

Qualifications

  • BA/BS in Human Resources, Business, or related concentration
  • Industrial/Manufacturing experience is required.
  • At least 3-5 years of experience in a human resources and talent management environment, with proven ability to produce positive results.
  • Strong oral and written communication skills, excellent problem solving, interpersonal and analytical skills, and ability to work in a team environment.
  • Effective interpersonal skills with the ability to build relationships and interact with all levels in the organization.
  • Experience of building and developing a strong culture within an organization.
  • High level of proficiency with PowerPoint, Excel and other related Microsoft products.
  • Ability to prioritize tasks and to delegate them when appropriate.
  • Ability to act with integrity, professionalism, and confidentiality.
