Responsibilities

Equipment troubleshooting 

  • Conduct repairs in a timely manner, monitor operating supply and repair part levels. Submit requisitions in a timely manner to prevent out-of-stock situations.
  • Conduct hot work, confined spaces and high altitude
  • Perform all duties in a safe manner and in accordance with Company policies.
  • Keep work area and department clean and organized.
  • Follow instructions of the Maintenance supervisor.
  • Perform all other tasks as directed by Purafil manufacturing leadership
  • Train other crew members as required.

Preventive maintenance

  • Conduct daily checks on boilers, air compressors, and dust collectors to ensure optimal performance.
  • Conduct preventive maintenance on process and facility equipment, this may include
    • Changing filters
    • Oiling chains
    • Dust/vacuum particles

Production support

  • Ensure all equipment is operational at optimal capacity.
  • Troubleshoot equipment when the production team is reporting out-of-normal conditions
  • Mix dry (powdered) chemicals in blender for shift’s production.
  • Assist disc operator with pumping of liquid bulk totes of chemicals.
  • Change screens on separators

Regulation and compliance

  • Support plant ISO program, lean manufacturing, and process improvement initiatives.
  • Support on regulatory audits, which could include:
    • Waste-water or Storm water audit/testing
    • Fire safety inspections
    • OSHA / County / Insurance
  • Ensure the warehouse, office and building needs are met by conducting the work or sourcing the appropriate assistance, these could include:
    • Light bulb changing
    • Door repairs
    • Plumbing assistance
    • AC repairs
    • Racking maintenance
    • Floor/concrete repairs
    • Equipment installation
    • Forklift repairs

Other

This position is entirely based in a manufacturing environment.  Shifts last 8-12 hours per day, 4-6 days per week.  Most of this time is spent walking and standing on concrete manufacturing floor in extreme heat and cold; climbing stairs and ladders; wearing personal protective equipment including but not exclusive  to safety glasses, earplugs, safety shoes, and dust mask.  Requires weekend work as production needs dictate.  Be able to lift fifty pounds.

Work Environment:

The work environment characteristics described here are representative of those an employee encounters while performing the essential functions as a Purafil Sales Engineer.

While performing the duties of this job, the employee is occasionally exposed to industrial environments that can be hot, have fumes or airborne particles. The noise level in the work environment can be moderate but may occasionally be considered high.
