Overview

The A/R Analyst reports to the Senior Director Accounting and Finance and is responsible for ensuring that orders are invoiced accurately and in a timely fashion.  Collects on accounts by communicating bill reminders to customers via phone, email or mail.  Assist with balance sheet reconciliations and month-end financial reporting and acts as backup for team members. The A/R Analyst position must comply with established policies and procedures.

Responsibilities

  • Invoice processing and daily cash applications
  • Prepares, posts, verifies, and records customer payments and transactions related to A/R
  • Manage and maintain customer accounts
  • Work with customers, sales rep and internal departments to resolve invoice and account discrepancies
  • Respond to customer inquiries timely
  • Confirm inter-company trade balances during month-end close
  • Manage daily collections activity, cash receipts and invoicing
  • Posts customer payments by recording cash, checks, and credit card transactions
  • Verify accuracy of A/R reports
  • Resolves collections by examining customer payment plans, payment history, and credit line
  • Successfully researches and resolves any issues that may arise
  • Protects organization's value by keeping information confidential
  • Implement drives for cash flow improvement
  • Preparing and posting monthly journal entries and Balance Sheet reconciliations
  • Reconcile Bank Statement
  • Monitor purchase order status using reporting or other spreadsheets and tools
  • Ad hoc analysis for Controller and local management.
  • Perform other related duties as required
  • Support other Accounting activities, general ledger standard entries and other close related reports

Qualifications

Skills and Experience

  • Undergraduate Accounting degree in Accounting, finance or related field preferred or equivalent combination of education and experience
  • 3-5+ years of experience in Collections, Accounts Receivable and General Accounting experience preferred
  • Proven track record in collections and keeping overdue/aged balances at a minimum
  • Manufacturing industry experience preferred
  • Excellent time management and communications skills
  • Ability to thrive in a fast paced and continuously changing environment
  • Solid interpersonal skills and the ability to communicate with all levels of management and customers
  • Proficiency in Microsoft office suite including Excel and Word
  • ERP System experience preferred
  • Strong team player.
