Responsibilities

The Union Maintenance Technician is a self-motivated team member who works to maintain and keep production machinery operating properly so that the site can continue on its mission for a safer, healthier, and more productive world. 

  • This person is a team player, who works with others to solve production machinery challenges and suggestions for long-term sustainable improvements.  
  • Maintain & Repair production machinery.
  • Excellent troubleshooting capabilities ( electrically,mechanically and electronically ), even when prints are not available.
  • Maintain & Repair electronic controls on production & facility equipment.
  • Disassembles the equipment and repairs/replaces the necessary parts.
  • Test the machine following a repair to ensure the repair is complete.
  • Perform Preventive & Predictive maintenance as required.
  • Order replacement parts
  • Follow blueprints and engineering specifications in the process of making repairs.
  • Responsible for maintaining a clean work area.
  • Responsible for cleaning work area after completing a repair to any equipment.
  • Provide training to new employees added to the Maintenance Department.
  • Create/Close Work Orders for Maintenance &/or Machine Shop
  • ISO 9001, 14001 and Environmental, Health and Safety Compliance
  • Operates all equipment in the prescribed manner
  • Reports all safety concerns to Supervisor
  • Maintain awareness of company policies
  • Maintain awareness of company objectives for ISO 9001 and ISO 14001
  • Support the Company’s continuous improvement initiatives
  • Completes all tasks as assigned by Supervisor.

Qualifications

Let's take a look at the Qualifications: 

 

  • Associate Degree in Electronics or Journey Electrician.
  • Experience working in a production environment, a minimum of 1-3 years.
  • Mechanical experience and/or skills
  • Experience working with PLC & Industrial Equipment Controls is a must.
  • Proficient with MS Office
  • Proven experience in being a great communicator 
  • Self-motivated team member-driven to see it, own it, solve it, do it, attitude. 
  • Proven problem-solving experience and success at thinking 'outside the box' 
  • Resourceful problem solver with proven ability to bring a quick resolution to challenging situations.
  • Solid experience working with hand tools (snips, pliers, tweezers, screwdrivers, wrenches, tow welder, air knife, and razor blades).

Benefits

  • Starting pay of $38/hr and top pay of $42/hr (once training is completed)
  • Company provided tools.
  • 8 hr. Shifts (12am-8am, 8am-4pm, 4pm-12am)
  • Breaks included in your 8 hr. shift 
  • Time and a half for Sat., Double time for Sun.
  • $175.00 safety shoe reimbursement for maintenance
  • Up to 5 weeks vacation (based on tenure/seniority)

Hours: The ability to work a shift schedule is required since we are a 24/5 manufacturing facility
