We are seeking an engaged and results-driven Quality Director to join our leadership team at the Fairburn, GA location. In this pivotal role, you will lead all aspects of Regulatory, Compliance, Process, and Product Quality, ensuring we meet and exceed industry standards while driving operational excellence.

Responsibilities

  • Develop, implement, and continually improve quality processes to ensure compliance with ISO, FDA-GMP, and customer audit requirements, driving both regulatory adherence and customer satisfaction.
  • Lead the development and maintenance of the Quality Management System (QMS), ensuring compliance with international and domestic regulatory standards (ISO9001, FDA) while meeting key customer expectations.
  • Provide direct oversight of the Quality Lab and front-line inspection team. Actively coach and develop staff, ensuring that technicians and inspectors have the skills and tools necessary to succeed.
  • Manage and enhance the Non-conformance and Customer Complaint system. Ensure timely and clear communication and follow-up with both internal and external stakeholders to maintain high customer satisfaction.
  • Implement Daily Management practices within the Quality organization. Lead efforts to identify and escalate issues, collaborating closely with Operations and Engineering to implement corrective actions and prevent non-conformances, fostering a culture of accountability and success.
  • Drive continuous improvement initiatives within the Quality function, leveraging data and metrics to identify opportunities for process enhancements that boost efficiency, product quality, and compliance.
  • Collaborate with Sales and Product Development teams to ensure product quality aligns with market and customer expectations, supporting new product launches and driving customer satisfaction.
  • Play a strategic role in supporting Porex’s high-growth objectives, ensuring the quality organization contributes to overall business goals, enhancing operational excellence and market competitiveness.

Qualifications

  • Education and Experience

    • Bachelor’s degree in Engineering, Quality Assurance, or a related technical field; relevant certifications (e.g., Six Sigma, Lean, ISO Lead Auditor) preferred.
    • Eight (8) or more years of experience in Quality System Development and Management within manufacturing, with a strong preference for medical device experience.
    • Demonstrated leadership experience with three (3) to five (5) years in people management, including team development and performance management.
    • Experience with ISO 9001 required; Familiarity with regulatory standards such as ISO 13485 and FDA regulations is strongly preferred.
    • Strong strategic thinking, problem-solving, and communication skills, with the ability to collaborate effectively across functions.
  • Core Competencies

    • Quality Management Expertise: Deep understanding of quality management principles, including regulatory compliance (ISO, FDA-GMP) and the ability to develop and implement effective Quality Management Systems (QMS) that meet both internal and external standards.
    • Customer-Centric Mindset: Strong commitment to understanding customer needs and ensuring that product quality meets or exceeds market expectations. Ability to collaborate with Sales and Product Development teams to deliver innovative solutions.
    • Data-Driven Decision Making: Strong analytical skills, with the ability to leverage data and metrics for continuous improvement initiatives. Proficiency in utilizing quality tools and statistical process control (SPC) to enhance quality processes.
    • Problem Solving and Root Cause Analysis: Expertise in leading effective problem-solving efforts, including root cause analysis and the implementation of corrective and preventive actions (CAPA) to drive quality improvements.
