We are seeking a Process Quality Engineer (PQE) to join our rotational program, offering exposure to Operations and Quality, followed by a choice between a Product Development Engineering (PDE) or Production Supervisor role for the final rotation. This immersive program allows you to gain hands-on experience across key functions, ultimately preparing you for a non-rotational role in the company upon completion of three rotations (36 months).

Responsibilities

  1. Operations (PQE Focus):
    • Drive process improvements and ensure manufacturing methods enhance safety, quality, efficiency, and cost-effectiveness.
    • Conduct root cause analysis for production issues and implement corrective actions to optimize performance and reduce waste.
    • Manage and document process validations, equipment installation, and manufacturing method improvements.
    • Support operations with troubleshooting and continuous improvement initiatives aimed at reducing variability and improving throughput.
  1. Quality (PQE Focus):
    • Work closely with the Quality Department to enhance quality systems and ensure products meet internal and external specifications.
    • Apply Lean, Six Sigma, and other quality tools to resolve customer complaints, perform root cause analysis, and implement corrective actions.
    • Support quality-related projects aimed at improving product consistency, reducing defects, and increasing overall product quality.
    • Lead or support quality initiatives to enhance process control and drive continuous improvement across operations.
  1. Final Rotation (Choose between PDE or Production Supervisor Role):
    • Product Development Engineering (PDE):
      • Collaborate with Product Development Engineers and Customers on new product introductions, including product & process design, equipment development, and process validation.
      • Support innovation projects by integrating new technologies and developing processes for new materials and products. 
    • Production Supervisor:
      • Lead and manage a production department, overseeing day-to-day operations, safety, and quality.
      • Drive a culture of continuous improvement and mentor frontline staff to achieve operational excellence.
      • Ensure alignment with company goals and foster a high-performance team environment.

Process Quality Engineer (PQE) Essential Job Functions

  • Lead initiatives to improve manufacturing methods, processes, and controls with a focus on quality, efficiency, and cost reduction.
  • Conduct root cause analysis for production and quality issues, implementing corrective actions to prevent recurrence.
  • Manage equipment installation, process validations, and document manufacturing methods to ensure robust process control.
  • Apply quality tools to address customer complaints and production inefficiencies, ensuring high product quality and reliability.
  • Participate in and lead projects aimed at reducing variation, enhancing process capabilities, and improving product performance.
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams to introduce new products and processes while integrating advanced technologies into production.
  • Support or lead projects related to capacity, process improvements, and equipment upgrades to enhance manufacturing capabilities.

Qualifications

Core Competencies

  • Basic understanding of manufacturing and quality systems in production environments. (Hands-on experience is a plus but not required.)
  • Ability to demonstrate leadership potential and the willingness to develop project management skills over time.
  • Foundational knowledge of Lean Manufacturing, Six Sigma, and team-based problem-solving methodologies; candidates with coursework or internship experience in these areas are preferred.
  • Strong interpersonal and communication skills with the ability to effectively interact across all levels of the organization.
  • Analytical and critical thinking abilities with an eagerness to develop problem-solving skills and learn root cause analysis techniques.
  • Familiarity with or interest in learning data analysis, quality tools, and statistical process control (SPC).
  • Exposure to or willingness to learn solid modeling software and 3D printing technologies.

 

Education and Experience

  • Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical Engineering, Industrial Engineering, or a related field.
  • New graduates or those with up to 2 years of post-graduate experience are encouraged to apply.
  • Demonstrated ability to quickly analyze problems and develop solutions, even if from coursework or internships.
