Position Summary

We are seeking a highly motivated and experienced Sales Leader with Tier 1 automotive experience to oversee our outside sales team (3) and program managers (3). The ideal candidate will possess strong leadership abilities, exceptional negotiation skills, and a proven track record of driving sales growth. This role requires a strategic thinker who can manage and inspire a sales team, develop and implement effective sales strategies, and build long-term relationships with clients.

Responsibilities

Leadership and Team Management

  • Lead, mentor and manage the outside sales team and program managers to achieve and exceed sales targets.
  • Conduct regular performance reviews, provide coaching and facilitate professional development opportunities.
  • Foster a positive team environment, encouraging collaboration and continuous improvement

Sales Strategy and Execution

  • Develop and implement comprehensive sales strategies to drive market share and revenue growth.
  • Identify and target new business opportunities within the automotive sector
  • Analyze market trends, customer needs, and competitor activities to adjust sales strategies accordingly.

Client Relationship Management

  • Build and maintain strong relationships with key clients, understanding their needs and providing tailored solutions.
  • Handle high-level negotiations with clients, ensuring mutually beneficial agreements.
  • Act as the main point of contact for major accounts, ensuring high levels of customer satisfaction.

Sales Operations

  • Oversee the sales pipeline, ensuring accurate forecasting and timely reporting of sales metrics.
  • Collaborate with other departments (e.g. engineering, supply chain, operations etc.) to align sale strategies with overall business objectives.
  • Manage the sales budget, by guaranteeing optimal allocation of resources and achieving cost efficiency.

Sales Forecasting and Reporting

  • Develop and maintain accurate sales forecasts, leveraging data analysis and market insights.
  • Monitor sales performance against forecasts and adjust strategies as needed to meet targets.
  • Prepare and present regular sales reports to senior management, highlighting key performance indicators and areas of improvement.
  • Utilize CRM systems and other tools to streamline sales process and improve efficiency

Qualifications

 

  • Bachelor’s degree in business administration, Marketing, or a related field
  • MBA a plus
  • Minimum of 5 years of experience in sales leadership, preferably within the automotive sector
  • Proven track record of achieving and exceeding sales targets.
  • Strong leadership skills with the ability to inspire and manager a high-performing sales team.
  • Excellent negotiation and communication skills.
  • Strategic thinker with the ability to develop and implement effective sales strategies.
  • Proficient in CRM software and Microsoft Office Suite.
  • Ability to travel up to 25%.
  • An entrepreneurial minded leader who constantly strives for improvement, unwilling to accept there is not a better way, is ambitious and wants to have a great impact on the world.
