Responsibilities

Summary

 

Load and unload trucks and/or containers.  Move material within the facility to and from the loading area using a forklift truck, hoist, motorized conveyor or other material handling equipment.

 

Responsibilities

 

  1. Understand the product flow and processing systems as well as know the whereabouts of all storage areas.
  2. Identify all raw materials and finished goods.
  3. Understand material handling tasks.
  4. Complete picking tickets as required.
  5. Palletize and stage products per procedures.
  6. Perform shipping and receiving clerical tasks as required.
  7. Load and unload raw materials and finished goods according to SOP’s.
  8. Perform daily maintenance and upkeep of forklift equipment.
  9. Maintain a clean work area.
  10. Perform duties safely and report all observed safety hazards to the supervisor.
  11. Be punctual and at work daily, as scheduled.

Perform other duties as assigned or required by the supervisor, manager of by operational conditions.

Qualifications

Skills and Experience-

 

  1. Ability to read and write English sufficient to perform the essential functions of the position and satisfactorily meet business demands.
  2. High school diploma or equivalent level of education preferred.
  3. One year of experience in a warehouse or manufacturing environment.
  4. Ability to work overtime on short notice.
  5. One year of experience with and certification in the operation of a counterbalance forklift and reach machine. Nominal experience with manual lift equipment preferred.
  6. Lifting ability up to 60 lbs.
