We have an immediate need for a Supply Chain Manager based out of our Breckenridge, Texas manufacturing plant.  Reporting to the Vice President of Operations, the Supply Chain Manager will be highly motivated and focus on driving exceptional customer service by providing the highest quality at the lowest price, with the quickest delivery to keep up with the fast-growing demand for our products and services.  100% onsite in Breckenridge, TX.

Responsibilities

  • Generate and implement efficient sourcing and category management strategies.
    • Plans yearly cost savings goals and drives a team to deliver on the plan.
    • Analyze and calculate costs of procurement and suggest methods to decrease expenditures.
    • Provides monthly updates on the progress to plan for yearly cost savings goals.
    • Continuously seek out new vendors for better pricing, quality, delivery, and terms
    • Reviews bid proposals, vendor stocking programs and negotiates contracts within budgetary limitations and scope of authority.
    • Implements lean management to support Kanban schedules with short lead times showing inventory reduction as a percentage of Sales.
    • Demonstrates continuous improvement behavior as the responsible person for raw material inventory management.
  • Manages the day-to-day flow of raw materials
    • Key member of the sales and operations planning process
    • Validates purchase order commitments that support our customer demand profile
    • Interfaces with all departments and resolves problems and issues as necessary.
    • Helps maintain the company’s inventory and its tracking system.
    • Optimize MRP system use, train users and resolve issues.
    • Owns the daily Gemba walk Purchasing metrics, driving activities to influence people behaviors and implement continuous improvement
  • Supplier relations and management
    • Build positive, mutually positive relationships with vendors
    • Confers with vendors to obtain product or service information such as price, availability, and delivery schedule.
    • Contacts vendors with discrepancies with quantity and quality.
  • Inventory storage, movement and material handling
    • Management of the Raw Material Handling team
    • Cycle count tracking and root cause problem solving discrepancies
    • Counting at a glance systemic integration and improvements
    • All shift coverage aligned to internal customer requirements
    • Raw material efficiently stored for first-n-first-out (FIFO), space optimization, picking and cycle counting

Qualifications

  • BS in Supply Chain Management, Logistics or Business Administration.
  • Minimum of 5 years of direct supply chain experience in a manufacturing environment.
  • Preference for experience with materials management.
  • Advanced experience of MS office (especially Excel) and MRP systems.
  • Demonstrated leadership skills and employee development.
  • Prefer familiarity with lean manufacturing and continuous improvement principles.
  • Must be able to balance team and individual responsibilities, exhibit objectivity and openness to others’ views. Contributes toward building a positive team spirit.
  • Ability to speak and write clearly, concisely and persuasively. Must be able to effectively present information and respond to questions from managers and customers.
  • Must have impeccable attention to detail and strong organizational, problem-solving, and analytical skills; able to manage priorities and workflow.
  • Demonstrate confidence, a positive attitude, be a self-starter
  • Individual should be committed to expanding product knowledge and utilize all available resources, striving for continuous improvement.
  • Strong time management skills; ability to work under deadlines and focus on multiple projects with minimal supervision.
  • Ability to prioritize workload to meet changing business needs. Individual should have the ability to adapt and work effectively with a variety of situations and personalities. Must be able to maintain integrity, confidentiality, and professional maturity.
  • Ability to work independently and as a member of various teams and committees.
