Overview

The Shipping/Warehouse Supervisor manages the shipment schedule, including verification of the location and determining the correct charges. They also keep track of the incoming and outgoing deliveries by maintaining an organized record in the company's database. The Shipping Supervisor must have excellent communication and leadership skills, especially on handling customers' concerns, conducting item replacements, and overseeing the warehouse staff to meet maximum productivity goals. This position will be located in Nowata, OK.

Responsibilities

Key Responsibilities

  • Prioritizes outbound shipments according to customer requirements, as well as managing internal transport of materials to sub-fabricators for work order completion
  • Utilizes SAP daily to receive material, create and issue production orders, pick and pack material for shipment and perform Warehouse location setup/material movement
  • Performs production parts costs as well as manages the TECO process in SAP for month end closing.
  • Direct supervision of Shipping Clerks and Leads
  • Oversees quality inspection of all outbound shipments
  • Supervises and coordinates activities of workers engaged in packaging products and materials for storage and shipment. Studies production order to ascertain type and quantity of product, containers to be used, and other packaging requirements.
  • Trains workers in equipment operation.

  • Focus on Quality and targets Zero Error Rates
  • Assist with coordination of truck routes (drop off and pick up times)
  • Supervises employees engaged in verifying and keeping records on incoming and outgoing shipments and in preparing items for shipment
  • Ensure safety certification is current for all team members
  • Arrange and manage warehousing and inventory of all materials that are in stock at facility
  • Conduct physical inspections of assigned work area/equipment
  • Supervise the activities of shipping personnel to maintain a smooth flow of work
  • Ensure production schedules are attained daily while meeting safety, cost and quality objectives
  • Engages with lean manufacturing to implement improvements and improve processes
  • Develops and maintains a plan for employee cross training to fully utilize talent and provide flexibility

Qualifications

REQUIRED SKILLS

  • Demonstrated strong interpersonal skills to interface with manufacturing personnel and organizational management.
  • Ability to work in a team environment
  • Conflict resolution and the ability to resolve issues efficiently and effectively
  • Strong knowledge of Shipping procedures

REQUIRED EXPERIENCE / EDUCATION

  • 1-3 Years’ experience in a transportation, warehouse or distribution environment preferred
  • 1-3 Years’ SAP experience
  • 3+ years of supervisory experience

 

PREFERRED EXPERIENCE / EDUCATION

  • Bachelor’s degree in logistics, business or relevant field or equivalent work experience
  • Prior experience in Manufacturing preferred
