Overview

The Warehouse and Shipping Clerk for capital equipment will be responsible for maintaining quality work in a timely manner with special attention to Jonell System “A” Products and “A” Customers.

Responsibilities

Primary Duties / Responsibilities include but are not limited to the following:

 

  • Manage all aspects of shipping & receiving department and processes.
  • Perform kitting and organization of material that will ship to local sub-fabricators utilizing B.O.M.’s to pick and organize.
  • Electronic Inventory Maintenance – SAP Transactions, Inventory Location Maintenance, etc.
  • Verify inventory, ensure warehouse parts are in correct locations.
  • Pick and Pack sales orders, perform inventory transactions and adjustments (via SAP) and Ship all UPS shipments (via UPS WorldShip).
  • Properly apply shipping labels, packing information, and miscellaneous customer information.
  • Build, box, or pack items for shipment - using standard packing material.
  • Examine outgoing shipments to ensure they meet specifications.
  • Operates Forklift or Hand Truck to move, weigh, or hoist shipments from shipping and receiving platform to storage or work area.
  • Enters purchase requisitions for department needs/MRO items. Also works with production management to request capital expenditure items.
  • May be required to communicate with carriers to schedule pickups, deliveries, etc.… (LTL’s, UPS, FedEx, Dedicated trucking, etc.…)
  • Responsible for closing shipping department – (Locking gates, buildings, etc.…)
  • As a member of the assembly group, facilitate teamwork within the department.
  • Maintain clean and organized work area. Strive for 5S.

Qualifications

SKILLS and EXPERIENCE QUALIFICATIONS:

  • High school diploma or general education degree (GED); at least one year of related experience or training; Or equivalent combination of education and experience.
  • Effective verbal and written communication skills
  • Ability to apply concepts of basic algebra and geometry and to calculate figures and amounts such as lengths, fractions, area, circumference, etc.
  • While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to stand, walk, and stoop, kneel, crouch, or crawl; The employee is occasionally required to use hands to finger, handle, or feel and reach with hands and arms; The employee must regularly lift and/or move more than 50 pounds and occasionally lift/or move up to 100 pounds.
  • Must be able to occasionally work additional hours at the end of the shift, additional days during the payroll week which will be in excess of forty (40) hours per payroll week
  • Ability to work well with others
  • Strong attention to detail and accuracy, sound organizational skills
  • Ability to work well under pressure, deadline oriented and ability to manage and adapt to change
