Position Summary:

 

Inside Sales Representative

 

The Inside Sales Representative executes our global growth strategies, focusing on onboarding and managing distribution partners (both generalists and specialists). In this role, you will drive the development of key distribution channels, build strong relationships with distributors, and ensure the successful execution of our sales strategies to achieve business objectives.

Responsibilities

Duties/Responsibilities:

 

Delivering Growth & New Business Development

  • Identifies, onboards, and builds relationships with key decision-makers within distribution partner organizations to ensure market visibility and comprehensive coverage.
  • Focuses on key distributor markets, including Food & Beverage, Pharmaceutical, Personal Care, and Laboratory sectors.
  • Engages both new and existing distributor sales representatives to drive growth, while emphasizing the differentiation of Whirl-Pak products in the market.
  • Acts as a conduit for understanding and communicating the Voice of the Customer (VOC) and market pain points, providing critical insights for product and service improvements.

Distribution Channel Management

  • Evaluates potential strategic distribution partners, communicates their viability to senior management, and works to establish strong, mutually beneficial partnerships.
  • Cultivates close relationships with key distributor personnel, including top-level management, field sales teams, and product managers, fostering a collaborative, transparent, and open communication environment.
  • Identifies regional and market gaps in distribution coverage and develops strategies to recruit new distributors that will help enable channel growth and improve market penetration.
  • Understands key performance indicators (KPIs) such as pricing practices, conversion opportunities, and competitive product lines, using this knowledge to drive performance improvements and strategic decisions.
  • Provides accurate demand forecasting for top accounts, analyzing sales trends and offering insights on reasons for over- or under-performance, while developing and executing corrective actions.
  • Assesses underperforming distributors, reducing cost of sales while ensuring adequate service levels to partners and end users.
  • Performs other related duties as assigned.

Qualifications

Required Skills/Abilities:

  • Strong track record of success in account management or inside/outside sales experience and track record of delivering growth.
  • In-depth understanding of distribution channels, with experience managing distributors and driving sales in multi-channel environments.
  • Solid technical selling experience background with a preference for laboratory, hygienic, or sampling equipment in the pharmaceutical, F&B, personal care, or water safety markets.
  • Ability to build and maintain strong relationships with distributor sales representatives and management, ensuring alignment on business objectives and sales targets.
  • Ability to leverage data and analytics to evaluate key performance indicators (KPIs), pricing strategies, and competitive market dynamics, driving informed decision-making and performance improvements.
  • Strong communication skills, both verbal and written, with the ability to effectively engage with internal teams and external partners at all levels.
  • Self-motivated and results-oriented, with the ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced, dynamic environment.
  • Advanced computer skills in Microsoft Windows and Office software, with proficiency in Word, PowerPoint, and Excel for reporting, presentations, and analysis.
  • Proficient in Salesforce or other CRM software, with the ability to leverage data for reporting, manage customer relationships, and generate actionable insights.
  • Base knowledge of relevant regulatory guidelines and documentation related to the markets we serve, particularly in regulated industries like pharmaceuticals and F&B.
  • Fluent in English; proficiency in additional European languages (German, French, Italian) is highly desirable.

Education and Experience:

  • Bachelor's degree in Business, Sales, or a related field preferred.
  • At least 3-5 years of distribution account management or inside sales, with a preference for laboratory, hygienic, or sampling equipment in the pharmaceutical, F&B, personal care, or water safety markets.
  • Proven experience in managing distributor relationships and executing sales strategies to achieve growth targets.
  • Familiarity with ERP systems and CRM tools, as well as sales forecasting and reporting.

Physical Requirements:

  • Ability to travel 20% of the time as needed for meetings, distributor visits, and industry events.
  • Ability to work from our office in Pleasant Prairie, 2-3 times per week.

 

 

Base Salary: Starting Salary $60K + Bonus, Exempt
