Responsibilities

Job Summary:

Practice HR in a manufacturing plant of 200+ associates with key responsibilities in all areas of HR disciplines and people processes with a strong focus talent acquisition, talent development & retention, and enhancing the employee experience through employee engagement. A true HR practitioner requiring Trust, Bias for Action, and an Entrepreneurial Spirit.

 

Essential Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Partner directly with front-line leaders, hiring managers, and employees to support key HR processes (e.g., staffing & recruiting, team member engagement, performance management, new employee onboarding and people data)
  • Facilitate staffing & recruiting for hourly and salary positions including, screening candidates, scheduling interviews, participating in job fairs, and posting vacant positions
  • Maintain candidate flow in applicant tracking system to drive expedient and timely onboarding
  • Conduct an engaging new employee orientation and onboarding including classroom instruction and plant tours
  • Facilitate small and large employee engagement events such as town halls, roundtables, and shift meetings
  • Update digital signage and leverage mass communications tools to keep employees informed
  • Partner with and guide front-line leaders and employees through people processes including onboarding, performance management, LOA/ADA, benefits, payroll, and separation of employment
  • Run reports and analyze people data and present to plant leaders to help influence results driven decisions
  • Maintain employee records in accordance with legal and company record retention guidelines
  • Maintain employee data in company HRIS and other databases as needed
  • Provide a strong HR presence to employees in their work area to support real time employee engagement and people problem solving
  • Assist in developing, implementing, and communicating HR policies, and procedures
  • Help resolve employee grievances; completing workplace investigations as needed
  • Act as a liaison between employees and benefits groups as needed (LOA/ADA, health/dental/Vision, 410(k), EAP, and wellness programs, workers comp.)
  • Maintain compliance with all legal and regulatory systems

Work Environment

  • Fast paced manufacturing environment geared towards teamwork and employee engagement
  • You’ll be working primarily in an office setting but regularly supporting employees in a production environment
  • Safety is our highest priority, and you will receive safety training and protective equipment
  • Dress code is business casual

Qualifications

Job Requirements (Education, Work Experience, Certifications, Skills):

  • Bachelor’s degree in Business Administration, Human Resources, or related field is required
  • 2 - 5+ years of human resources experience is required. 
  • SHRM-CP, PHR or similar HR certification preferred
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office applications
  • Knowledge and experience working with HRIS and ATS systems like Workday, ADP, SAP, PeopleSoft
  • Attention to detail and organization is a must
  • Strong creative, organizational, interpersonal, written and verbal communication skills are essential
