We are seeking an experienced and driven specialist in Product Development to support the advancement of our strategic growth plans and accelerate their execution. As the Product Development Manager, you will play a key role in shaping the future of our products, strengthen partnerships with customers and build technical capabilities within the organization. You are a central player on the global technical team, building innovation and development insights that drive technical excellence in our region. Together with your team of experienced product development engineers, you will foster an innovation mindset to enable the success of our products in the markets. Responsibilities

  • Product Development
    • Develop and successfully commercialize new porous polymer based products for various functional applications both within and outside of existing production platforms.
    • Improve the properties of existing materials to enhance performance, reduce costs, meet regulatory requirements or sustainability aspects of our products.
    • In conjunction with the team, design and engineering work for new products including prototype creation, testing and validation until official market entry and coordinate across the product development life cycle from concept to launch in collaboration with cross functional teams.
  • Technical Leadership
    • Lead the engineering design and development process for the site while overseeing relevant technical aspects of product development, in collaboration with the sales team and operations teams.
    • Provide technical direction and problem solving best practices while guiding and supporting the product development engineering team.
    • Foster a positive team environment to enable motivation and collaboration in a rapidly changing business.
  • Collaboration and Project Management
    • Engage with customers and stakeholders to understand their needs and translate them into solutions that meet performance requirements.
    • Collaborate closely with sales, marketing and operations teams to ensure successful launch of new products in the market.
    • Manage and oversee projects from concept to completion, ensuring that they are delivered on time within scope and budget.
    • Coordinate projects and development activities with teams across the entire organization such as R&D, manufacturing and supply chain to ensure that all aspects of product development are aligned with project goals and timelines.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree in an engineering (e.g., mechanical, chemical, material science, or a closely allied field) is required.
  • 5+ years of experience in product development, design engineering and project management.
  • Strong experience in polymeric materials related products and test methods, preferably in technologies encompassing filtration, separation or purification.
  • A bias towards tackling engineering tasks in a hands-on manner with an ability to work independently and as part of a team.
  • Proven track record in inspiring an engineering/technical team and measuring and managing to key performance metrics.
  • Strong experience in commercialization of products (or product sub-components) through stage-gate processes in regulated industries (for example - life sciences, automotive, aerospace).
  • Excellent communication skills, interpersonal skills, and an ability to build rapport to maintain effective relationships with internal team and customers.
  • Strong problem-solving abilities and the capacity to think strategically and analytically.
  • Product development and launch experience in an ISO13485 or IATF 19649 environment would be a plus.
  • Proficiency in CAD packages, statistical software/analysis, programming and Microsoft Office Suite is needed.
  • Willingness to travel ~10-20% as needed for customer visits or team members locally and overseas.
