Overview

The Regional Safety and EHS Manager is responsible for assessing safety and environmental health at facilities across the North America region. This position will collaborate with key regional and plant leaders to implement safety and environmental health programs to ensure compliance with regulations while promoting a culture of health and safety throughout all levels of the organization.

This role will report to the VP of Operations and will lead Safety and Health Initiatives across the Filtration Group Industrial, Americas region.

Responsibilities

  • Develop, implement and manage regional safety programs and policies ensuring alignment with OSHA/regulatory standards.
  • Lead the execution of the regional Safety Strategy and present on progress to appropriate leadership team members.
  • Continually assess effectiveness and/or gaps with safety initiatives and revise as needed.
  • Collaborate with Plant leaders to ensure facilities are in compliance with state and federal regulations and have accurate safety documentation and reporting systems to stay in compliance.
  • Conduct regular risk assessments, job hazard analyses, environmental health, job ergonomics and site inspections across the region.
  • Lead incident report outs, investigations, root cause analysis and corrective action implementation.
  • Track, analyze, and communicate regional safety metrics (ex: TRIR)
  • Develop and deliver safety training program tailored to different roles throughout the organization.
  • Promote ongoing safety awareness using multi-channel communications in collaboration with HR and plant managers.
  • Serve as a resource and mentor to production supervisors, safety champions and safety committee team members.

Qualifications

 

Education and Experience:  

  • Bachelor’s degree in Occupational Health & Safety, Environmental Science, Industrial Engineering, or a related field.
  • Certification as a Certified Safety Professional (CSP) or OSHA certification (OSHA 500, OSHA 510/511) preferred.
  • 10 years of experience in various safety roles in a manufacturing environment
  • 2 years of experience in management or leadership role.
  • Demonstrated success in Change Management and shifting the culture with step change in results.

  • Progressive, flexible, and team oriented; possess results-based style and skill set with strong influencing skills.
  • Able to communicate effectively, both written and verbally, to direct and motivate team and others at all levels of the organization, maintaining a persuasive and credible presentation style.
  • Ability to effectively manage multiple complex tasks simultaneously.
  • Strong analytical skills and process focused.
