Responsibilities

Primary duties and responsibilities include, but are not limited to the following:

  • Follow and commit to meet Key Performance Indicators (KPI’s) for safety, quality, production, efficiency, and service requirements
  • Follow and commit to safety and GMP (Good Manufacturing Practices)
  • Test performance of electromechanical assemblies 12v,24v,208v,480v,(ac/dc) using test instruments.
  • Read blueprints, schematics, diagrams, or technical orders to determine methods and sequences of assembly or operation.
  • Diagnose root causes of electrical and mechanical malfunction and failure of operational equipment report findings.
  • Plan layout of wiring and install conduit, wiring and ancillary electrical equipment.
  • Install power supply wiring and conduit and troubleshooting issues as they arise.
  • Perform preventative, predictive and corrective maintenance using FIIX CMMS.
  • Analyze mechanical and operational problems on assigned equipment and plan for and take corrective action. Make necessary corrections and running adjustments to maintain maximum production and quality.
  • Strong electrical background: wiring new equipment, rewiring old existing equipment, developing schematics for new & existing equipment.
  • Fabricate parts for new & existing equipment, assemble automated systems from individual parts and subassemblies.
  • Ablitlity to weld and fabricate parts using lathe and endmill to fabricate components and assemblies from drawings and concepts a plus.
  • Test equipment to check operation. Test equipment after repairs, changeovers or extended down time.
  • Make preventative maintenance checks and inspection of assigned equipment ensuring safety and optimum performance. Report findings to Manager and take appropriate action.
  • Analyze and record causes of production delays.
  • Train equipment operators on correct use of equipment by reviewing requirements, SOP’s and adjustment techniques.
  • Notify management team of recurring problems, equipment malfunctions and supplies needed. Take related corrective actions.  Order replacement parts ensuring no loss in production time due to equipment maintenance and repair.
  • Interface with Maintenance Manager on special projects.
  • Follow all safety procedures and use necessary personal protective equipment. Ensure that all work meets regulatory requirements (OSHA).
  • Observe “Lockout/Tagout” procedures while working on equipment.
  • Report to work on time each day as scheduled, ready and prepared to fulfill all assigned job duties.
  • Make recommendations for improving new and existing equipment &/or process. (Continuous Improvement)
  • Perform other duties as required.

Qualifications

Minimum Qualifications:

  • Two years of collegiate-level technical or vocational training preferred; or, equivalent combination of education and experience.
  • Ten years or more of previous mechanical and electrical equipment maintenance and repair experience, and five years of work in an environment with a successful preventative maintenance program and a thorough understanding of manufacturing operation requirements.

 

Preferred Qualifications

  • PC literacy, TQM knowledge and ISO familiarity preferred

                         

Physical/Mental Demands:

High level of mental and visual acuity.  Requires reaching, stretching, standing, lifting, bending and squatting.  May need to lift over 50 lbs. The physical and mental requirements described here are representative of those that must be met by an individual to successfully perform the essential functions of this position.
