Overview

The Sales Manager – Custom Products role is responsible for leadership, commercial excellence, and key account management for the high growth vertical of Custom Products at UAF.  This role is tasked with developing and driving effective hunting strategies in a wide array of verticals and applications spanning industrial, medical, EV Charging, energy storage and outdoor enclosures.  The role is 50% people leader and 50% individual contributor.  This role is heavily focused on hunting, prospecting, coaching, as well as  building out and executing UAF new business funnel. Responsible for cross functional partnership with Marketing, Engineering, and Operations.  This role has responsibility over global sales for Custom Products.

Responsibilities

Role responsibilities:

People Leader (50%):

  • Lead outside sales team - Inspire sales team members and motivate them to maximize their potential by instilling a sense of purpose and unity
  • Set priorities, coach and develop team to build best-in-class growth culture
  • Drive results through coaching of commercial and prospecting best practices to result in double digit YOY growth via new business.
  • Own reporting of results, forecasting, market trends, and countermeasures
  • Set and execute strategies for continued growth, customer intimacy, and expansion into new markets
  • Coach and support hunting, prospecting, and closing activities in all verticals
  • Collaborate with Sales and Engineering leadership
  • Identify areas for process improvement, work cross functionally to implement

 

Individual Contributor (50%):

  • Own key breakthrough growth accounts in EV/Enclosure
  • Prepare presentations, proposals, and sales contracts when required.
  • Prospect and hunt new business opportunities
  • Act as SME in Enclosure market

Qualifications

Skills & Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in Business, Marketing, or Engineering, or relevant experience preferred.
  • At least 5-7 years of minimum of proven sales experience, B2B industrial sales. Fan/Filter/Enclosure experience a plus.
  • Experienced in commercial leadership
  • Skilled in value selling and leveraging value props/competitive differentiation
  • Experience with CRM – Salesforce.com a plus (Opportunities, Leads, Contacts, Account Engagement)
  • Experience with new business development tools such as ZoomInfo, working closely with Marketing for outbound prospecting and lead generation.
  • Proven experience with hunting and prospecting new business
  • Strong cross functional teamwork experience
  • Strong communication and writing skills required.
  • Competent with Microsoft Word, Excel, PowerPoint, PowerBI
  • Proven track record of successfully increasing revenue through new business growth with new and existing customer base
  • Excellent listening, negotiation, and presentation skills

 

Travel: 50-60% domestic travel, 1-2 international trips per year (Europe, APAC region)
