Overview

The Global Operations Controller is responsible for leading the financial management, cost control, and performance analysis of the company’s global manufacturing operations. This role provides strategic financial leadership, ensures adherence to global accounting standards, and partners with VP Operations, regional and functional teams to drive operational efficiency, accurate reporting, cost efficiency, and support strategic decision-making across all manufacturing sites worldwide.

Responsibilities

Financial Oversight & Reporting

  • Oversee financial consolidation, reporting, and analysis for all global operations.
  • Monitor / oversee all financial aspects of global manufacturing operations, including budgeting, forecasting, standard costing, and variance analysis.
  • Monitor and report manufacturing KPIs (e.g., cost per unit, labor efficiency, material usage) and identify performance improvement opportunities.
  • Drive transparency and accountability through regular financial reviews with plant and regional leaders.

 

Strategic Business Partnering

 

  • Collaborate with VP of operations, Fairburn leadership team and finance leadership to evaluate working capital investments, plant performance, and make-buy decisions.
  • Lead financial analysis for network optimization, new product launches, and manufacturing footprint strategies.
  • Lead initiatives to standardize and automate finance processes globally.
  • Analyze key performance indicators (KPIs) to support strategic decision-making.

Cost Accounting & Analysis

  • Develop, implement, and maintain standard costing methodologies across global plants.
  • Analyze manufacturing variances (PPV, labor, overhead absorption, scrap) and recommend corrective actions.
  • Manage inventory valuation, cost of goods sold (COGS), and related balance sheet items.

Month End Close

  • Responsible for the Fairburn site month end close processes and oversight. Including balance sheet and income statement.
  • Responsible for site AR, AP and general ledger activities actual, forecast and budget.

Internal Controls & Compliance

  • Ensure adherence to global accounting policies and internal controls in all manufacturing locations.
  • Partner with audit teams to address any compliance or control deficiencies.
  • Oversee the accurate and timely execution of physical inventories and cycle counts.
  • Maintain and enforce corporate financial policies and procedures globally.

Team Leadership

  • Manage and mentor global site finance teams.
  • Promote a high-performance culture focused on continuous improvement and accountability.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field; MBA or CPA/CMA preferred.
  • 10+ years of finance experience with 5+ years in manufacturing or industrial environments.
  • Deep knowledge of standard costing, inventory management, and manufacturing performance metrics.
  • Strong understanding of ERP systems (Oracle, or similar) and advanced Excel/data analysis skills.
  • Experience working in a global or multi-site manufacturing setting.
  • Proven leadership and cross-functional collaboration skills.
  • Willingness to travel occasionally.
