Position Summary:

We are seeking an experienced business development professional with a proven track record of selling complex technical equipment into mission-critical facilities and large-scale mechanical projects. This role focuses on identifying and developing strategic opportunities within emerging vertical markets where our filtration solutions can provide significant operational value. The ideal candidate brings established relationships with mechanical contractors, EPCs, and end-users in high-stakes environments, along with experience selling engineered solutions that require technical consultation and specification.

 

Responsibilities

Key Responsibilities

  • Target Account Development
    • Leverage existing relationships with mechanical contractors, EPC firms, and design-build companies active in mission critical projects
    • Identify and prioritize key decision-makers and influencers within target organizations and projects
    • Navigate complex organizational structures to reach the right stakeholders in large-scale projects
    • Identify upcoming projects through EPC networks, mechanical contractor pipelines, and industry intelligence
    • Position our filtration solutions early in the design and specification phase of mission-critical projects
    • Attend industry events, trade shows, and networking functions to expand professional network
  • Strategic Discovery & Product Strategy Input
    • Conduct discovery sessions with target accounts to understand operational challenges, project requirements, and decision-making processes
    • Capture and document customer feedback, market trends, and competitive intelligence to inform product strategy
    • Identify emerging applications and market segments where our filtration technology can provide competitive advantage
    • Collaborate with product management team to prioritize features and capabilities based on market feedback
  • Project Pipeline Development
    • Build and maintain robust pipeline of qualified opportunities
    • Track project timelines, budget cycles, and key milestones for strategic accounts
    • Coordinate with internal technical team to ensure proper positioning and proposal development
    • Provide accurate forecasting and market intelligence

Qualifications

Essential Qualifications:

  • 2+ years of sales experience with established relationships at Mechanical Contractors, EPCs, and mission-critical End Users
  • Proven track record of opening doors and gaining access to decision-makers in complex B2B environments
  • Existing contacts with key players in mission critical environments (contractors, consultants, end-users)
  • Filtration knowledge is preferred but not essential; priority given to candidates with strong background in technical value-based development in this market
  • Understanding of EPC project dynamics and mechanical contractor business models
  • Strategic prospecting skills to identify and pursue high-value opportunities
  • Persistence and resilience to work long sales cycles typical in mission-critical applications
  • Strategic thinking with ability to identify market opportunities and competitive positioning
  • Discovery mindset to uncover customer pain points and business drivers that inform product strategy
  • Project management skills to coordinate complex sales processes involving multiple stakeholders
  • Communication skills to effectively interface between customers and internal technical teams
  • Travel flexibility up to 50% for face-to-face relationship building and project site visits
  • CRM proficiency and data management skills for pipeline tracking and market intelligence
  • Adaptability to work collaboratively with technical team while focusing on market access and relationship development
