The Vice President of Technology will lead Jonell’s global Applications Engineering team while driving the company’s engineering and innovation strategy. This role combines strong technical expertise with commercial acumen to ensure Jonell delivers customer-focused, competitive, and innovative filtration solutions. Reporting to the President of Jonell, the VP of Technology will manage applications engineering activities worldwide, guide new product development, and represent Jonell as a thought leader in the industry.

Responsibilities

  1. Leadership of Applications Engineering
  • Manage and develop the global Applications Engineering team, fostering technical excellence, collaboration, and a customer-first culture.
  • Ensure best-in-class process design, proposal development, and technical integration of Jonell solutions into customer systems.
  • Provide commercial and technical leadership on front-end project design, ensuring Jonell is positioned aggressively and competitively in the market.
  • Oversee proposal reviews, project execution, and compliance with relevant industry standards.
  1. Innovation & New Product Development
  • Partner with strategic customers to understand evolving requirements and translate them into innovative product offerings.
  • Provide technical insight to product management and R&D teams, guiding solution design and product enhancements.
  • Support lab commercialization initiatives and oversee the introduction of a field service testing program to complement IntegraLabs’ capabilities.
  • Drive aftermarket application engineering efforts, including new media sourcing and product development.
  1. Thought Leadership & Market Positioning
  • Represent Jonell globally by authoring and presenting technical thought leadership in industry forums and strategic customer engagements.
  • Strengthen the Jonell Systems brand through participation on technical committees and by leveraging a dedicated marketing budget for sponsorships.
  • Foster strong relationships with customers, positioning Jonell as a trusted technical advisor.
  • Exercise discretion over industry sponsorship budgets and ensure resources are directed toward initiatives that maximize market impact.

 

 

Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Mechanical Engineering, Chemical Engineering, or related field.
  • 12+ years of experience in applications engineering, technical sales, or process design in oil & gas, refining, or filtration industries.
  • Proven success supporting and closing large capital projects and aftermarket solutions.
  • Strong expertise in filtration, separation, and process system design; ASME code knowledge required.
  • Exceptional customer-facing, public speaking, and negotiation skills.
  • Track record of technical thought leadership and market positioning.
  • Willingness to travel extensively (30–50%).
