Overview

The Chemistry Business Unit is comprised of Molecular Products, Purafil, and Cerafil, focused on pure air technologies. The Chemistry Business unit has over 250 employees across the globe, with manufacturing locations in Louisville, CO., Connellsville, PA., Harlow UK, Doraville GA, and Guangzhou, China, with additional sales offices in China and India. Our business unit is over $120MM in annual revenues and is a priority growth business in the Filtration Group portfolio.

 

The HR Director is responsible for overseeing and managing all human resources functions within a manufacturing environment. This role involves developing and implementing HR strategies that align with the organization’s goals, fostering a positive work culture, and ensuring compliance with labor laws and safety regulations. The HR Director will lead recruitment efforts, talent development, employee relations, performance management, and training initiatives to support operational efficiency and employee satisfaction. This position requires strong leadership skills, a deep understanding of the manufacturing industry, and the ability to collaborate with senior management to drive organizational growth

Responsibilities

Strategic HR Planning:

  • Develop and implement HR strategies aligned with the company's manufacturing goals
  • Collaborate with senior leadership to create workforce plans that meet the demands of production and business objectives
  • Identify key HR initiatives that support productivity, efficiency, and employee engagement in the manufacturing environment.

 

Talent Acquisition and Retention:

  • Oversee recruitment efforts, ensuring that the organization attracts top talent for critical manufacturing roles.
  • Develop and maintain a strong talent pipeline to meet staffing needs, especially for skilled labor and technical positions.
  • Implement retention strategies, focusing on employee engagement, recognition, and career development opportunities to reduce turnover.

 

Employee Relations:

  • Foster a positive, inclusive, and safe work environment by addressing employee concerns, resolving conflicts, and promoting open communication.
  • Act as a liaison between employees and management, ensuring that employee voices are heard and that concerns are addressed fairly and in a timely manner.
  • Ensure compliance with labor laws, union negotiations (if applicable), and safety regulations while maintaining a harmonious workplace.

 

Performance Management:

  • Lead the performance management process, ensuring clear goal-setting, feedback, and evaluation methods for manufacturing employees.
  • Provide guidance to managers and supervisors on effective performance coaching and corrective action.
  • Analyze performance data to identify trends, address skill gaps, and optimize workforce productivity.

 

Data-Driven Decision Making:

  • Utilize HR metrics and analytics to make informed decisions about workforce planning, engagement, and retention strategies.
  • Provide senior management with data-driven insights into HR performance and areas for improvement.
  • Continuously assess and refine HR processes to enhance operational efficiency.

 

FRONTLINE OBSESSION

  • Lead, inspire, and mentor Frontline Leaders to understand the Mission of the Chemistry Businesses, and connect the dots on how the Frontline Team makes the world safer, healthier, and more productive.
  • Serves the Frontline Team and its leaders by regularly seeking their feedback in terms of process challenges and improvements and ensures that everyone has the tools and resources needed to deliver their goals.
  • Regularly communicates in an open and transparent style with all Team Members to ensure understanding, as well as receive feedback from the Frontline.
  • Coaches and develops Team Members to get better everyday and grow their career within the Chemistry Businesses.
  • Maintains a culture of winning by regularly recognizing Team Members that go above and beyond.
  • Sets and holds a high standard of excellence with the courage to hold Frontline Leaders and Frontline Team Members accountable and correct problems as they arise.

 

TEAM DEVELOPMENT

 

  • Builds the best operations team and sets the standard for accountability through the hiring of top talent, development of the team, and performance management.
  • Implement a robust on-going succession planning process for all key areas of responsibility including for this position.
  • Identify and address skills gaps through training and development initiatives.
  • Serves as a role model for Frontline Obsession by holding regular, cadenced communication with the frontline team and having a strong presence on the shop floor.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s Degree in Business Administration, Human Resources, Organizational Psychology, or a related discipline.
  • 10+ years of HR experience, preferably in a manufacturing environment
  • 3+ years of experience working in a manufacturing environment
