Overview

Porex, a Filtration Group company, is a trusted co-innovation partner that helps companies engineer, develop, and manufacture material science solutions that make the world safer, healthier, and more productive. As part of our marketing team, you’ll help turn our purpose into tangible experiences, extending the brand through global trade shows and events that reflect our partnership and innovation.

We’re seeking a highly organized, proactive Events Manager with proven experience planning and executing global trade shows and corporate events — and a passion for enhancing customer experience through management of our global hands-on product sampling and customer appreciation programs.

This role will own end-to-end event execution — from strategy to onsite delivery — ensuring every interaction reflects who we are: a trusted, solution-driven partner. The role combines precision in planning with creativity in execution, managing everything from global trade-show logistics to ease of accessing and shipping product samples, ensuring that customers experience our materials not just as products, but as solutions that make ideas real.

Location: Atlanta, GA (must be based in the Atlanta area; 10–20% travel required)
Department: Corporate Marketing
Reports to: Brand and Content Director

Responsibilities

Trade Show & Event Management

  • Lead all aspects of trade-show and event planning — including venue selection, booth design coordination, shipping/logistics, staffing, travel, setup, and teardown — ensuring seamless execution and a consistent brand experience.
    • Manage all event logistics: budgets, timelines, vendor contracts, shipping/freight, signage, exhibit services, hotel and travel bookings, attendee registration, and trade-show staffing schedules.
    • Serve as or collaborate with the primary “go-to” on the ground at shows, overseeing staff, vendors, scheduling, and troubleshooting issues onsite.
    • Support post-show activities: facilitate lead capture, data handoff, event debriefs, and ROI tracking to continuously improve performance and drive measurable impact.
    • Monitor and report on event metrics, including budget vs. actuals, shipping/handling efficiency and cost, vendor performance, booth traffic, lead quality, and engagement outcomes.
    • Collaborate cross-functionally with strategic marketing, sales, operations, and vendors to align event execution with broader marketing campaigns and business goals.

Customer-Centric Sampling & Appreciation Experience

  • Collaborate with marketing, sales, and technology teams to curate sample assortments — including supporting technical information — that facilitate ease of sample selection and align with our brand promise and strategic focus areas.
  • Manage end-to-end sample room operations: forecasting needs, overseeing packaging and presentation, coordinating replenishment, and maintaining a simple but reliable inventory system that supports day-to-day opportunity execution as well as surges associated with events.
  • Facilitate customer loyalty and appreciation programs: lead selection of gift options, coordinate with sales and marketing, and ensure fulfillment on time and on budget.

Operational Excellence

  • Own the corporate event calendar, travel schedule, and logistics tracker; ensure all team members and vendors adhere to deadlines and deliverables.
  • Ensure compliance with global tradeshow and corporate policies (travel, spending, inventory control).
  • Travel: occasional travel throughout the year to key shows (domestic and potential international) with the ability to be onsite for show week plus travel days.

Qualifications

Required

  • Bachelor’s degree in Marketing, Business, Event Management, or related field (or equivalent work experience)
  • 3–5+ years of experience managing corporate events and global trade shows — preferably in a B2B or industrial/technical environment
  • Strong logistics and project-management skills: ability to manage multiple moving parts, vendors, people, and timelines with precision
  • Demonstrated ability to manage budgets, vendor contracts, freight/shipping logistics, accommodations, onsite staff, and overall event execution
  • Strong interpersonal and communication skills (written and verbal); comfortable working cross-functionally and managing internal and external stakeholders
  • Highly organized, detail-oriented, excellent multitasking ability, and comfortable in a fast-paced, high-energy environment
  • Demonstrated success managing multiple events simultaneously, often with overlapping timelines, with the ability to pivot quickly and prioritize competing tasks
  • Ability to travel up to 20% (domestic and potentially international) and be onsite at events
  • Based in the Atlanta area and able to commute to our corporate site as needed
  • Must be comfortable multitasking and working cross-functionally (with sales, strategic marketing, operations, and external vendors).

Preferred

  • Experience in customer sampling and/or marketing collateral or inventory management
  • Experience with trade-show lead capture systems and post-event reporting
  • Proficiency with event-management software/tools, budget-tracking systems, and freight/shipping platforms
  • Certifications such as CMP (Certified Meeting Professional) or CEM (Certified in Exhibition Management)
  • Previous experience in a technical, manufacturing, or B2B environment; life sciences industry experience a plus

Why Join?

  • You’ll play a key role in shaping the external, physical presence of the brand at major global events and trade shows, with high visibility internally and externally.
  • Join a collaborative team environment, working across marketing, sales, product, and operations.
  • Benefit from a mix of travel and global exposure (rather than purely local events).
  • Opportunity to create an elevated experience across the customer journey, aligned with our brand promise, while adding a broader marketing-operations dimension to the organization.
