Job Summary

This position audits product quality using basic hand tools and ensures compliance to customer standards and documented procedures relating to the manufacturing of finished goods.  Additional responsibilities include monitoring/inspecting of incoming products and materials, WIP, and finished product, and assistance in maintaining compliance to all governing standards and bodies (i.e. ISO, FDA, GMP) through internal auditing, investigating and resolving customer complaints and audit findings, and participating in corrective/preventive action investigations.

Responsibilities

Job Functions include but are not limited to:

  • Enters basic information into quality software, databases, tables, workstations.
  • Operates, interprets, and reports results from a minimum of basic hand tools.
  • Ability to verify reference point (zero) of measurement equipment.    
  • Interprets measurement and testing results and compares results with specifications.
  • Professionally interacts/communicates (face to face, voice, and electronic) with appropriate internal and external parties concerning aspects of the position.
  • Performs inspection/testing on raw, work in progress, and finished goods per work instructions, test methods, lot acceptances, or other guidance as directed to ensure internal and customer requirements are met.
  • Performs attribute inspections using standards and a degree of judgment developed with familiarity with the products, interaction with marketing/sales/customer care, consideration of final use of product, and past customer complaints and internal rejections.
  • Approves or rejects materials/products based on the comparison of test results and specifications.
  • Completes all necessary paperwork, labels, and tags to indicate status of product.
  • Records information for NCRs.
  • Maintains a clean, safe, and orderly work area.
  • Other duties as assigned.

Qualifications

  • Experience:  

    • 6 months to <1 year experience related to manufacturing and quality. Must be able to read a tape measure.

    Other skills and abilities:

    • Must possess basic mathematical skills and must be able to read a tape measure. (A math test will be administered; you may use a calculator.)
    • Trainable/coachable
    • Innovative/creative with surroundings
    • Detail oriented, but efficient
    • Ability to understand blue prints and drawings.
    • Basic understanding of data collection hardware and software
    • Effective written and verbal communication skills and good professional conduct.
    • Effective problem-solving skills such as 5 why's, cause and effect analysis, and brain storming
    • Basic computer skills (e-mail, use of mouse/keyboard, ability to progress PC and software knowledge)
    • Ability to assist in trouble shooting.
    • Ability to identify and report safety concerns and unsafe conditions
    • Ability to interpret standards/policies/practices.
    • Ability to interpret standards/policies/practices and report regulatory and systems violations.

     Physical Demands:  

    • Medium Work- Lifting of 50 pounds maximum.
