Overview

The Supply Chain Coordinator verifies and keeps records on incoming and outgoing shipments, coordinates purchase orders and delivery tracking, and assists the customer service team with order entry and tracking, and prepares items for shipment by performing the following duties to quality and productivity standards. The person in this role coordinates with the production and order planning teams to facilitate order scheduling in order to meet customer and business shipping expectations. Facilitates accurate completion and processing of a variety of shipping documents while ensuring accuracy, safety, efficiency, and documentation of processes.

  • Manages activities throughout the order fulfilment and transportation cycle to ensure established deadlines are met
  • Responsible for assuring supplies, stock, materials, packages, and/or products are processed through the delivery and/or warehouse system efficiently and safely.
  • Coordinates with carriers to ensure on-time delivery by tracking trucks for pick-up, estimating times of arrivals and delivery, and recovering loads when necessary.
  • Committed to customer satisfaction and willing to assist in any and all customer order fulfillment duties including order entry, order tracking, and communication with the sales team.
  • Provides classification according to HTSUSA. Requires the ability to interpret US Harmonize Tariff Schedule.
  • Monitors shipments and Customs clearance. Communicate status, delays to appropriate parties. Resolves shipment issues and possess the ability to determine when to elevate to management for resolution.
  • Meets internal customers’ deadlines by ensuring timely processing and delivery of international shipments
  • Assists, as necessary, with release of Customs holds and provides necessary documentation for release.
  • Ensures accurate product values and country of origin are provided in international transactions.
  • Supports and maintains ongoing documentation of logistics procedures related to daily functions.
  • Coordinates with sales team, production managers/supervisors and production planners to create and execute daily schedules to ensure timely receipt and shipping of all orders.
  • Communicates with clients and shippers and resolves any complaints.
  • Prepares shipping quotes for customers.
  • Negotiates shipping fees with couriers.
  • Maintains a meticulous record of shipment information.
  • Creates international shipment documentation and tracks international compliance for the business
  • Coordinates with materials, production, and customer service to ensure customer delivery dates and requirements are achieved.

Qualifications

  • At least two years of experience with International and Domestic shipping strongly preferred
  • Bachelor's degree in Business Admin, Supply Chain or Engineering preferred
  • Experience with supply chain, planning & scheduling, customer service, and quality in a manufacturing operations environment
  • Experience using ERP preferred
  • Advanced in Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, PowerPoint)
  • Ability to work in a fast moving and changing environment
  • Ability to manage multiple tasks at the same time
  • Problem solving skills and attention to detail
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills as this role will speak with multiple levels within the organization
  • Knowledge of Domestic and International Supply Chain and US Customs Import Regulation.
  • Knowledge and understanding of Incoterms rules.
  • Experience in the lean manufacturing methodologies
  • Organized, driven and customer focused
  • Ability to participate as a positive team player and interact effectively with others in the workplace.
  • Ability to read, write and speak English well.
