We are seeking an experienced and driven specialist in assembly Product Development and able to support the advancement of our strategic growth plans and accelerate their execution. As a Product Development Engineer, you will play a key role in shaping the future of our products, strengthen partnerships with suppliers and customers, and build technical capabilities within the organization. You are a central player on the global technical team, building innovation insights that drive technical excellence. Responsibilities

Product Development:

  • Lead cross functional groups to manage product development process from concept to launch
  • Operate within an ISO13485 Quality System environment which includes in-depth knowledge of design controls and regulatory compliance
  • Determine product specifications and design input requirements and develop methods of inspection, testing, and evaluation of new products and competitive products
  • Use project management tools to plan and accomplish goals to perform a variety of tasks and maintain a customer-focused perspective in all activities initiated to ensure that company needs are successfully met
  • Work with the sales team and customers to evaluate new product development projects and user related technical issues. Serves as a technical representative to customers. 

Automation and Assembly:

  • Work with suppliers to develop and build automated manufacturing equipment, manage acceptance testing and qualification activities in compliance with an ISO13485 quality system
  • Develop new manufacturing processes including injection molding, ultrasonic welding, die cutting, manual assembly, quality inspection. Collaborate with operations team to develop work instructions, train operators
  • Work with injection molding tool builders to design, build, and qualify new injection molding tooling to meet customer requirements
  • Create cost estimates for the manufacturing of new assemblies and components
  • Support all aspects of production as needed, not limited to suppliers, purchasing, quality, injection molding, automation, assembly, and shipping

Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree in an engineering (e.g., mechanical, chemical, material science, or a closely allied field) is required.
  • Min. 5 years of experience in product development, design engineering and project management
  • Strong experience in injection molding, component assembly, behavior of polymeric materials and test methods, preferably in technologies encompassing filtration and separation science
  • Experience in medical device product development and working in an ISO13485 environment
  • Proficiency in CAD packages (Solidworks), statistical software/analysis, and Microsoft Office Suite is needed
  • A bias towards tackling engineering tasks hands-on manner with and ability to work independently and as part of a team and the ability to document.
  • Experience in commercialization of products (or product sub-components) through stage-gate processes in regulated industries (e.g. life sciences, automotive, aerospace).
  • Strong communication, problem-solving and interpersonal skills
  • Product development and launch experience in an ISO13485 or IATF 19649 environment would be a plus.
